Intern program coordinators needed for Summer 2024 internship cohorts

We are looking for six Internship coordinators for five separate Underrepresented Minority (URM) internships in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). The coordinator for each internship will oversee the programming and supervise a cohort of eight students during the eight-week paid internship program. The coordinators will report to the Chair of the program. We strongly encourage URM’s to apply.

Requirements: Experience in supervision of students or similar role working with high school students. Patient and reliable. Organizational and communication skills. Energetic and positive personality. Ability to travel for one weeklong trip and attend day trips – per calendar. First aid- and CPR-certified preferred but not required. You will be required to undergo a background check. Preferred candidates are college students, post graduate students or recent grads who have studied in the internship subject matter. We are looking for one coordinator for each internship.

Internship topic areas: Environmental Science, Healthcare, Real World Engineering, Coding, Space Exploration, and Architecture.

 Dates: June 10th- August 10th (9 weeks)
Coordinator’s hours will fluctuate, approx 20 hours per week.

Salary: $4000 stipend

Duties include:
1.    Confirm and manage all schedules with facilitators and volunteer work schedules for interns. .
2.    Facilitate and attend all educational group sessions with scheduled teachers.
3.    Act as chaperone for all out of state field trips and day trips. Supervising students and keeping them safe implementing emergency protocol efforts to ensure the protection of students.
