Internship Closing Ceremony 2023

On August 19th from 10-1 PM at the New Psalmist Baptist Church, 6020 Marian Drive, Baltimore, Maryland 21215, 44, underrepresented high school students will display coding projects, engineering projects, rocketry projects and research posters in healthcare, architecture and environmental justice as a culmination to an 8 week paid summer internship hosted by STEMcx and its partners. 

The students receive almost $100K in stipends for their work over the summer. Topic areas include Computer Coding, Environmental Justice, and Bioethics. The sponsors of the internships include BlueVoyant, BGE, the Annie Casey Foundation and the New Venture Fund. Federal funding comes to us from the Department of Education. 

Engaging and challenging these talented students is the best way to assure a more diverse STEM workforce in the future.

Special guests included Marvin James, chief of staff to Mayor Brandon Scott,Elonna B. Jones, Baltimore City Regional Director Office of Senator Chris Van Hollen and Bobbie James, Esq.Assistant Secretary, Maryland Department of the Environment.
